According to the Delta V website at this link: http://www.easydeltav.com/pd/PDS_SerialIntSeries2.pdf the Delta V Serial Interface Series 2 can support multiple protocols; although they do say that the standard interface is Modbus RTU/ASCII. If your Delta V has the standard Modbus Interface, then the ProLinx Ethernet IP to Modbus Ga...

To get data from or send data to Modbus Slaves, you will need to create a poll list, or set of commands, in the ProLinx module configuration. Once that is done, the module will issue whatever read and write comamnds you create, up to 100 commands per Modbus port, without any logic needed on the Profibus side. Any data read in from the S...

If the 315 will be configured to be a Profibus DP Master, then you have the correct part number. If, however, the 315 will be a Profibus DP Slave, then, you will need the 4104-MCM-PDPM or the 5104-MCM-PDPM Profibus DP Master module instead. Either is capable of talking Modbus RTU or ASCII from their Modbus Serial port.

We are sorry you are experiencing problems. Unfortunately, not all RS232-to-RS485 converters are created equal; and not all of them work with our module. We suggest you try another converter. We have generally had good luck with products from B&B Electronics, Telebyte, and a few others.

1. Yes, the ports are isolated and run two different protocols, one on each port. 2. Yes, all devices on a DH485 network must be linked to the network with 1747-AIC Link Couplers or 1769-NET-AIC adapters, both SLC and ProLinx module. 3. No, you may not directly connect the SLC DH485 port to our port adapter cables without going throug...

ProSoft currently does not make any products that support Allen-Bradley DH or DH+ communications protocols. We would not be able to offer you a ProLinx solution for that application.

If you look closely at the ProLinx Profibus Slave Protocol Guide, you will see the Profibus Master will only be able to differentiate Input from Output if you put them in the correct area of the ProLinx module's memory that is assigned for that type of Profibus data. As such, the Modbus address scheme you propose will cause all the data to...

Without having many more details about your specific application, it is hard to posit a exact solution. The A-B DH485 protocol, being a low speed, token-passing protocol, has always been suseptable to traffic overload resulting in network errors. Any node on the network is allowed to create messages and poll any other node for data. The...

In the MNET Client Commands for the ProLinx 4202-MNET-ASCII4 module, the Slave ID parameter in the commands applies, mainly, to what is called, "Encapsulated Modbus" protocol. This is essentially Modbus Serial RTU protocol, wrapped in an Ethernet packet and transmitted to Service Port 2000 of a Modbus TCP/IP device; which then st...

The sample command information you are asking about is contained in the DFNT Protocol Guide, Section 5.3, available for download from the ProLinx Gateways website. The trick to accessing "Some_Tag" in the CLX is to use the LOGIC|Map PLC/SLC messages function of RSLogix5000. This allows you to map CIP-type tags to PLC/SLC N, F,...

Our DFNT driver has the capability of doing PCCC-type Ethernet message instructions, similar to the type of messaging done in SLC read and write messages (MSG instructions) going directly between SLC 5/05s on an Ethernet network. As such, you will not be able to bridge and route messages from our module through the ENBT-DHRIO combination...

ProSoft is working on a way to do what you are inquiring about. There are still some technical difficulties yet to be worked out. We anticipate having this capability in the future; but, right now, there is not a way to do remote reconfiguration via Ethernet.

Also what is the configuration that you have setup for the module. I would like to run some tests and check into this further, if you could email me your configur...

ProSoft no longer offers the ProLinx Operating System 2.4 Upgrade for field use. We have found that, even if done according to instructions, if an error occurs during transfer, the ProLinx module could be rendered inoperable. Once this happens, the only way to fix it is to send it back to ProSoft so it can be restored to normal function....

This module is only designed to allow multiple DF-1 Masters to talk to one PLC/SLC Channel 0 port when it is configured as a DF-1 Slave. If you are trying to use the PLC/SLC as a DF-1 Master and multiplex it to multiple Slaves through our module, this will not work. You would need the 5102-MCM4_DFCM for that application. To diagnose pr...
