3100 MCM to PLC-5 weird behaviour

I have configured the 3100 MCM so it uses an specific slave address, but it always communicates as ID 2.

Is there any reason for this behaviour?

I am testing the comm with MODSCAN.

RE:3100 MCM to PLC-5 weird behaviour

There is nothing we know of that locks the module into responding as just one Node number. These modules read their configurations at boot-up and you should be able to assign the port any Slave ID value from 1- 247.

The only reason we can think for the behavior you report is that, at some point in time, the module was assigned to be Node 2 and this configuration was downloaded to the module. If you then change its node number in the data tables of your ladder logic but do not re-boot the module, it will continue to respond only as Node 2, the last configuration that was loaded.

Try rebooting the module by powering down the PLC rack in which it is installed. When it powers back up, it should reload it's configuration and begin responding to commands sent to whatever Node address it has been given in the Configuration data table.
