5/80E firmware revision

Is there an AB firmware revision issue with 5/80E processors and MNET-DFNT gateways? My gateway communicates with some of my ethernet 5's, but not others.

RE:5/80E firmware revision

Prosoft is not aware of any such issues as you are asking about. Most often, the cause of the symptoms you report is usually tracked-down to a hardware-related or network configuration issue, like a hub/switch/router not passing Ethernet packets, bad Ethernet cables, or mismatched subnet masks or IP addresses. To diagnose why you can communicate with some PLCs and not others, network sniffing software (like Ethereal) is very useful. You can capture the traffic on your network and send it to ProSoft, along with your ladder logic, configuration files, IP addresses, etc. and ask them to help you diagnose the root cause of the problem. If you use sniffing software, be sure to connect everything though a plain hub, not a switch. A switch will limit traffic through a port to just what is addressed to the device(s) on that port. A hub sends all traffic received on each port to all the other ports on the hub. This way, your sniffing software will see all the Ethernet traffic.
