Questions regarding 5102-DH485-MCM3
I plan to use the 5102-DH485-MCM3, DH485 to Modbus Gateway. My application has only one SLC5/03 and this needs to communicate with DCS on Modbus RTU. The DH485 port on the SLC is free and I intend to connect it to the Gateway and the Modbus port (RS485) will be connected to the DCS. DCS will be Master and SLC will be Slave
I have following questions -
1) Are the DH485 and Modbus ports isolated from each other or only power supply to port isolation is provided?
2) In my case only one SLC 5/03 will be connected to the gateway and there are no other DH485 devices. Do I still need the 1747-AIC on the SLC side?
3)Can I use 1761-CBL-AS03 to connect SLC DH485 port to the Gateway directly to the screw terminal adaptor of Gateway, if the gateway has port to port isolation?

RE:Questions regarding 5102-DH485-MCM3
1. Yes, the ports are isolated and run two different protocols, one on each port.
2. Yes, all devices on a DH485 network must be linked to the network with 1747-AIC Link Couplers or 1769-NET-AIC adapters, both SLC and ProLinx module.
3. No, you may not directly connect the SLC DH485 port to our port adapter cables without going through link couplers, as already mentioned.
