Problem with RadioLinx Serial RL-2400S

Hello,

I have a big problem configuring a RL-2400S RadioLinx. During the configuration procedure, when I enter all the parameters showned in the "Quick Start Guide" after pressing the "Configure Radio" button from the "Radio Configuration - Master Radio" dialog box, I get an error message "Unable to communicate with connected radio...".

I have checked the PC com1 port and communication cable which are OK. I am using RadioLinx Version 3.10.001.

Thanks a lot,
Adrian

RE:Problem with RadioLinx Serial RL-2400S

Hello Adrian,

It sounds like either the baud rates between the PC and the radio are different or the cable is not a straight through cable. Here are instructions for fixing the baud rate in the radio and accessing it. Be sure that your PC is connected to the RS-232 port of the radio and you are using a straight through serial cable (not a null modem cable).

1. Move the RS-232/RS-485 switch to RS-485 mode. The 485 LED on the radio should be lit. Cycle power to the radio.
2. In the COntrolScape software go to the Port Settings - Serial Port Configure menu and verify the settings are 115,200 8 N 1 and all handshaking is off.

This should allow you to communicate with the radio. If this doesn't work please give me a call at the number below.
